1. The short version

  • Levay asks you to agree to recording before your first call.
  • Your calls are used only to coach you.
  • We never sell your data.
  • We don't let AI providers train on your voice or your data.
  • Full call recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • You can delete recordings, or your whole account, yourself anytime in Settings.

2. Who we are

Levay is an AI friend that calls you every day, talks about your life, and works on the English words that get misheard. It is based in Canada, and this policy is written to follow Canada's federal privacy law, PIPEDA.

To be completed Legal entity name and mailing address.

3. The waitlist (applies now)

Levay isn't open yet. If you join the waitlist, we collect:

  • Your email address.
  • Your first language.
  • Your answer to “when do you most get misheard?”, if you give one.
  • Your consent to receive email from us, with the time you gave it and the version of the wording you agreed to.
  • Where you came from: the referring page and any campaign or referral tag in the link.
  • Your IP address, which our rate-limiting service uses briefly to block spam sign-ups.

We use this to tell you when your spot opens, to send a few launch updates, and to plan which languages and situations Levay should handle first. The list is stored with Supabase in Canada. Your confirmation email is sent through Resend.

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To have your waitlist entry deleted, email us at To be completed Contact email.

To be completed How long waitlist entries are kept if you never sign up.

4. The app (applies at launch)

Your account

  • Your sign-in details: email, or your Google or Apple account.
  • Your profile: display name, first language, time zone, the time window you want calls in, and your level.

Your calls

  • A recording of your side of each call. The other side is Levay's AI voice.
  • A transcript of the call, with timings and how sure the recognition was.
  • Short clips of sentences where a word was misheard, for your heard-as word cards, plus a clear version spoken by Levay's voice.
  • Your words and pronunciation scores for each attempt.

What Levay remembers

  • Facts about your life you share, like people, work and routines.
  • Plans you mention, like an interview, so Levay can call before and after.

Nerves tracking

  • Measurements of how you sound, such as pace, pauses and filler words, to show how relaxed you sound over time.

Reminders

  • If you turn on browser notifications, what's needed to send them.

5. How we use it

Your data is used only to coach you and to run the service:

  • To hold your calls and make them about your life.
  • To find words that didn't land, and bring them back until they're clear.
  • To schedule calls in your time window and remind you.
  • To show your progress, and adjust how fast and how hard calls are.
  • To keep Levay working: fixing errors and preventing abuse.

We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

6. Recordings and consent

  • Before your first call, Levay asks you to agree to recording on its own screen. No call is recorded without that.
  • Only your own voice is recorded and analysed.
  • Pronunciation scoring only receives the short clip of one sentence, never the whole call.
  • Recordings play back through private links that expire after a short time.

7. Nerves tracking

Nerves tracking compares how you sound only with your own earlier calls, never with other people. It is not a medical tool and doesn't diagnose anything. Its measurements are deleted with your account. To be completed Whether nerves tracking needs its own separate consent.

8. Services that process your data

Levay is built on these services. Each gets only what it needs for its job, and is only allowed to use it to provide that job for us.

No AI training. We don't let the speech and AI providers above (Deepgram, Anthropic, Cartesia, Microsoft Azure and Voyage AI) train their models on your voice or your data. If a main provider is down, a backup may be used under the same rule: AssemblyAI for speech to text, ElevenLabs for Levay's voice.

9. Where your data is stored

Your account data and the waitlist are stored in Canada, and pronunciation scoring runs in Canada. Some services above have no Canadian region, so parts of your data are processed in other countries, mainly the United States. While it's there, it is protected by our agreements with those services, but the laws of that country apply and its authorities may be able to access it.

To be completed Final list of countries and transfer safeguards.

10. How long we keep it

  • Full call recordings: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Clips on your heard-as word cards: until you delete them or your account.
  • Transcripts and scores: until you delete them or your account.
  • Everything else in your account: until you delete it or your account.
  • To be completed How long backups, error logs and AI request traces are kept.

11. Your rights and choices

Under PIPEDA you can see, correct and delete your personal information.

  • See and correct: your profile and what Levay remembers about you are in the app, where you can edit them. For a copy of anything else we hold, email us.
  • Delete: delete single recordings and memories in the app, or your whole account in Settings, yourself, anytime. Deleting your account removes your recordings and records with it.
  • Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from any email with one click, turn off notifications, or delete your account. Levay can't hold calls without recording them, so withdrawing consent to recording means no more calls.
  • Waitlist: email us to see, correct or delete your entry.

13. Age

To be completed Minimum age to use Levay and to join the waitlist.

14. Cookies and analytics

To be completed Cookies, analytics and similar tools used on the website and in the app, if any.
